STUDENT PASS APPLICATION PROCESS

Step One - What you will need to begin with.

To begin with, we will require you to provide us with the following upon registration with us. Please have the following documents ready.

(1) Photocopy of Birth Certificate

(2) Photocopy of Education Certificates

(3) Photocopy of Passport

(4) Photocopy of Bank Statement of Parent / Guardian / Sponsor

(5) 2 Passport Sized Photographs

(6) Non-refundable enrolment fee

Please ensure that you have the originals of (1) - (4) as these will be required for verification at Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) upon approval of your student's pass.

Step Two - Completing and submitting forms

We will provide you with our enrolment form as well as the necessary student's pass application forms from ICA. Please complete the forms in full, indicating your valid address and telephone number. This will make it easier for us to contact you should we receive news on the status of your application.

You will also be required to complete the Student Escrow Confirmation form as all school fees payable will be paid into an escrow account. This is a requirement for all foreign students put in place for your protection.

Please complete all the forms provided and affix your passport sized photographs to the student's pass application form as well as our enrolment form. The enrolment fee will be collected and an official College receipt will be issued.

Please note that it is important for you to furnish the College with your contact information as the College will contact you upon receiving news of your application status from ICA. Typically, the ICA takes approximately 4 - 6 weeks to process applications. This might be longer in the event there is a request for further documents. The College will not be held liable in the event an applicant is not contactable resulting in a lapsed application.

Step Three - The approval process

The first task is the submission of the Student Escrow Confirmation (SEC) form. The completed SEC form must be mailed to Development Bank of Singapore (also known as "DBS Bank"). The address is as follows :

DBS Bank Limited
Singapore Post Centre Post Office
PO Box 514
Singapore 914018

Should you wish for us to submit the forms for you, we will be happy to. However, as we mail / dispatch these forms out in batches, your application for the SEC may take longer. Hence, we recommend that all student's mail their forms themselves to prevent any delays.

The SEC approval will be sent back to us within 3 - 5 working days. Upon receipt of the approved SEC, we will contact you. Together with the SEC approval, please submit your completed student's pass application forms to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority personally. ICA is located at :

ICA Building
10 Kallang Road
Singapore 208718

Alternatively, we can mail the forms on your behalf but please note that the date of receipt of your forms depends on the postal / courier service.

From our experience, it takes between 4 - 6 weeks for ICA to review and approve / reject applications. All applications for student's pass are approved or rejected solely at the discretion of ICA.

If you have been approved for a student's pass, please proceed to Step Four. Should you have been rejected, please proceed to Step Five.

Step Four - I've been approved for a student's pass! What's next?

If you have been approved for a student's pass, we extend our heartiest congratulations. You have been given an opportunity to pursue your study in a country now known at "The Education Hub". As such, we trust that you will cherish this opportunity and make the best of it.

Upon receiving your letter of approval, we will contact you to give you the good news. You will then be required to submit the following to our office for processing.

  • Banker's Guarantee for ICA. The amount is dependent on your country of origin.
  • Bank Fees
  • Sponsorship Fee
  • A cheque / cashier's order / money order for your first month's fee payable to Raja's Commercial STFA (Escrow)

You will next be required to go for a medical examination. This is a pre-requisite by ICA prior to issuing your student's pass. We will provide you with the medical examination form which you will bring to a qualified medical doctor together with a duplicate copy of your student's pass approval letter. Please note that your student's pass approval will be withdrawn should you fail the medical examination.

When you have received a clean bill of health from the doctor, please bring the medical report back to our office for our records. You will then proceed to ICA to collect your student's pass with the following documents :

  • Original letter of approval for student's pass from ICA
  • Originals of documents indicated in Step One
  • Security Deposit (Cashier's Order)

With your student's pass in hand, we remind you that there are terms and conditions to the issuance of a student's pass. Please read and understand the terms and conditions stipulated and adhere to them strictly.

You are now ready to commence your much anticipated course and we warmly welcome you.

Step Five - I've been rejected for a student's pass. Is this the end?

In many cases, student's who are rejected for a student's pass make an appeal to ICA. Should you wish to appeal your application, we will be happy to assist. Alternatively, you may write your own letter of appeal to ICA. However, it is important to note that there are no guarantees.
